Packing for a Trip

20 days until the 10th Annual Great Escape to the great blue yonder!  Now is the time to start thinking about what to pack.  If you have never been on a cruise, your are more than likely going to over pack.  The number one rule is take out half of what is in your suitcase and double what is in your wallet!  Pack light for your comfort and movability.  Although once at the port the dock stewards will whisk your luggage away (except for your carry ons) and it will magically appear at your stateroom some time later.  To minimize all that you need, think double duty.  I personally find that a couple of pair of shorts and several tops that mix and match go a long way.  Since we are cruising this trip, there are formal or elegant nights.  For these nights a nice cocktail dress or for the gentlemen, a pair of slacks and a couple of shirts. Remember you are on vacation and it shouldn't be stressing you out about what you are wearing.  On Cruises you will see everything!  From tuxedos and sequin gowns to khakis, polos and sundresses.  So find your groove and get your cruise on.

Some things to include in your packing that I have found useful are an over the door shoe organizer to put on the bathroom door as a catch all - it is the perfect place to put your sunglasses, sunscreen, key card, even your flip flops.  The cabins are rearrange great and use the most of the space given but it helps to minimize the chaos.

Next item that I find to be a necessity is a large plastic mug.  These are great for rehydration by the pool or even on your balcony.  The cups provided are just so small and you have to make so many trips to the buffet to refill.

This little multiple adapter will save you lots of time especially with the iPads and computers and digital cameras all that have to be charged and recharged throughout your trip.

These are a few things that you might want to pack for your upcoming cruise.
