By 7:30 AM we had everything packed and loaded and we headed to the airport, where Logan dropped us off to catch our flight. Our first flight was to Chicago and then after a lay-over on to Rome. The flight left on time and Greg and I settled into our seats for the long flight.
Day 2 - October 14, 2007
Around 7:30 AM we landed in Rome, Italy. After collecting our luggage (all 4 pieces arrived) and cleared customs we were met by a Carnival Rep who directed us to our bus that would take us to our hotel. We checked into room 204 at the Cicerone Hotel. We met up with several other couples that would be sailing on the Freedom. One couple, Gus and Rhonda from Dalls shared a tour of Rome with us. Our guide was a very handsome Italian and knowledgeable too of the history of Rome. After touring the highlights and famous spots of Rome, jet lag caught up with us and we returned to the hotel for a rest.
